DIY : Beaded hemp bracelet
Hey guys so today I am going to be showing you how to make the hemp beaded bracelet with an adjustable finish.
The first thing you will need is some hemp thread 60 inches long, folded in half, so you have 2 strands 30 inches long
A second piece of hemp thread 20 inches long.
A pair of scissors
And some beads of your choice
The first thing you want to do is string a bead onto the 20 inch strands and tie a knot a couple of cm away from the end. Place this string in your clip board and pull it up about 4 inches. (This part will be used later for the finish)
Then take your loop and place that in the clipboard like so.
You then want to lay out your strands with the 20inch long strand in the middle. You then want to o 6 macramé knots or square knots. If you are unsure of how to d this, then you can check out the tutorial on my channel.
Once you have done that, you want to take your middle strand, and thread on a bead of your choice. Push it down the thread, and then do 2 square or macramé knots. Make sure you pull each knot really tight.
Then you repeat this for the rest of the bracelet. So you take another bead, thread it on your middle strand. Do 2 macramé or square knots and pull them really tight.
You want to do this for the rest of your bracelet, until it is the length you would like it to be.
So I have finished my bracelet. You can’t really see it very well, but after the last bead, I did 4 macramé knots to finish the bracelet and secure the beads on properly.
You want to then take your middle strand and thread on another bead. Then tie a knot a cm from the end of the thread. (Similar to the beginning of the bracelet)
Then you can cut off the two extra tassels.
On the other side of the bracelet, I am just going to cut the loop off, as we do not need this either.
We should be left with a bracelet and 2 pieces of thread with beads on either side. You can choose to finish the bracelet off this way, and tie them together, but I am going to make an adjustable macramé sliding knot. I have a detailed tutorial up on my channel so check it out if you want a clearer description.
Basically, I am crossing the threads over one another and placing one end in the clipboard to secure my work space.
Basically, I am just going to take a piece of thread I have left over, and place it under the tassels, and do a square knot. The first knot will be a little tricky, because the string isn’t attached, but it shouldn’t be too difficult. I am then going to do 6 further macramé knots.
I am then going to cut off the tassels. Don’t forget to dab some glue or clear nail varnish on the ends of all the knots where you cut tassels from, as these can easily come undone.
And now you’re done!
